Internet Service Providers
Deploying access points for Internet service has never been easier for installers and service providers. By eliminating the external power and cabling requirements access points can be installed where they are needed. Site planning and installation issues are greatly reduced since no cabling or external power sources are required. The high gain omni directional antennas greatly simplify the radio propagation analysis and installation. Users access the network of interconnected 802.11/g access points with any WiFi enabled computer.
Outdoor Entertainment and Recreational events
Our SWAP900 and WAP900 units are the perfect temporary long range network system to install for events like golf tournaments, sporting events, off road races, county fairs or conventions and other outdoor events. With the integrated solar module, the unit can be installed completely independent of external power sources. In areas where there are trees, dense foliage, and terrain obstructions, the 900MHz signals will provide a reliable connection, when higher frequency systems will fail to achieve a usable connection. Additionally, the integrated high capacity 802.11/g access point and high gain antenna provides a 1/4 mile roaming range or better for each WiFi user.
Construction sites
SWAP900 is perfect for semi-permanent high speed networks on construction sites where power and high speed data connections may not be available. The solar panel provides total independence from external power sources. As an example, construction personnel will have immediate access to the Internet with any WiFi enabled computer. Using the superior long range, and self configuring capabilities of the SWAP900 and WAP900 provide a way to cover many square miles using multiple units back to a wired Internet connection point.
RV Parks and Boat Marinas
SWAP900 is the idea choice for RV parks to take existing WiFi capacity around the RV parking areas and expand it to include the other onsite facilities like golf courses, lakes, and entertainment areas. The SWAP900 greatly expands on the WiFi coverage of a typical RV park to include areas not previously WiFi enabled because of range, power, or cabling limitations. The typical marina is an area where installing power and data cables to every WiFi access point is difficult. The SWAP900 comes to the rescue with the integrated solar panel and long range 900MHz radio mesh network in addition to the integrated 802.11/g access point. Now boaters can get high speed wireless Internet access using WiFi equipped computers. By locating SWAP900 units around the lake a “Cloud of Coverage” will ensure complete Internet access for boaters everywhere. Three units will typically cover an area of approximately 27 square miles.
Emergency and temporary networks
Recovering from floods, storms, earthquakes, and other natural disasters requires a lot of coordination between various agencies and emergency groups. Sometimes the power and data infrastructure has been damaged or seriously degraded. The SWAP900 with its autonomous operation, self configuration capabilities, and a long range 900MHz radio mesh network will provide the infrastructure replacement that is vital during these emergencies. The advanced network encryption ensures that sent thru the network are completely secure.
Rural Agriculture Networks
Modern agri-business and ranches now use the latest information technologies such as WiFi barcode units and RFID scanners, WiFi networks, and mobile computers of all types. All of these WiFi devices can utilize the SWAP900 access point as a centralized outdoor network. Data collected in the field using the integrated 802.11/g access point is immediately sent to headquarters using the long range, high speed 900MHz mesh network.
Private Networks
Since the SWAP900 forms a private encrypted network, complete anonymity is assured. The advanced encryption ensures that whatever files are sent thru the network are completely private and anonymous. The SWAP900 is a robust fully meshed capable network system, in the event a unit is removed from service or is damaged the mesh network will reroute and restore the network data traffic. Data can be accessed remotely using WiFi within the "Mesh Network Cloud" of SWAP900 units or thru an Internet gateway. If Internet access is desired, a designated SWAP900 can become an Internet gateway from any location. If there is WiFi Internet connectivity already available, this addtional capacity can be absorbed into the SWAP900 mesh network's total capacity.
Asset tracking and management
Providing security for truck and railroads, stockyards, outdoor storage all require high speed secure networks. Using the high speed, data service optimizations provided on both the access point and the encrypted 900MHz radio mesh network provides a robust network system. Because the SWAP900 is solar powered, installation of power and data cables is eliminated. Additionally, RFID scanners or barcode scanners with WiFi connections can be used to log movements and materials.
Scientific Research Telemetry
Researchers and scientists often find it difficult to get telemetry data in and out of remote areas without cellular access, power and surrounded by trees and other obstacles. With the integrated solar module, the unit can be installed completely independent of external power sources ro data cables. In areas where there are trees, dense foliage, and terrain obstructions, the long range 900MHz broadband radio mesh network will provide a more reliable connection. The dedicated 802.11/g access point provides secure access for interoperability with standard WiFi computers while making gateway connections to wired Internet connections possible.
